Nova Scotia Film Studio Offers 60%+ Tax Breaks

SHELBURNE, NOVA SCOTIA: A 60%+ tax credit for producers making films at the “crown jewel” of Nova Scotia’s studios is feeding a genuine industry buzz as Americans take over operations this spring.

“It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for me,” says CEO Jim Kendrick, “and for film makers. Check it out! This tax break is unheard of -- the best in the world. And along with that, you get 22,000 sq. ft. of clear-span sound stage space, a post-production suite, our hotel, and nearly a mile of beautiful ocean frontage.”

Seacoast Film Production Studios is in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, nestled on the South West shore -- nicknamed “Canada’s Banana Republic” by locals because its proximity to the Gulf Stream creates remarkably mild weather.

“The cast and crew of  “The Scarlet Letter” and “Virginia’s Run” and many others, have enjoyed the weather, the modern facility and the historic village of Shelburne,” stated President Mary Barstow. In April, James Kendrick of New Hampshire, and Mary Barstow, of Pennsylvania, owners of Seacoast Entertainment Arts, purchased the 173-acre complex and are now booking productions.
